Who Can Benefit?

A cochlear implant can help people who have severe-to-profound sensorineural hearing loss in both ears. People with mild-to-moderate hearing loss are not candidates for cochlear implants, as they can usually be helped by hearing aids and other forms of amplification. Children older than 12-months and adults with sensorineural hearing loss (nerve deafness) stand to benefit from cochlear implants.
